I landed at Heathrow just after the sun rose, and there was just enough light on the approach to see how scorched and desert-like England has become, after weeks and weeks of very high temperatures and virtually no rain.
Even when I was dropped off at home, still very early in the morning, it was 21 degrees! By the afternoon it was actually hotter here than back in Hong Kong! (although I'd take these warmer but less humid conditions any day).
In an attempt to fight the jet lag, I headed out on the bike for a quick loop. I'm hoping with all the running and gym work I put in over the past few weeks, I haven't lost much fitness!
Our tomato plant has come along way since I've been gone too - I'll have to start thinking about what to do with them all......
