With the recent spell of bad weather recently, I wasn't optimistic for anything special for my first day in London, and sure enough, I was right to be. The plan was to walk from the train station through various suburbs, to my hotel right in the heart of Soho. It was raining so much I chickened out and took the underground.
For most of the day, there was a constant light rain. Light enough so you could walk around without getting too wet, but annoying enough to keep getting water drops on the lens etc. In the afternoon, I visited the Tate Modern. It's a great space for chilling out, admiring some amazing pieces of work and hiding from the rain.
Most of the evening I spent wandering around my favourite area of London......Soho. There's such an amazing variety of restaurants, bars, shops and great little streets. There's nothing better than walking out of the hotel and being right in the centre of anything you could need. It was also a great starting point for many areas I was planning to walk to tomorrow.
It was also to get reacquainted with my Hasselblad again. It's been far too long since I used it last, and although I only shot 1 roll today, I hope to take a lot more photos on the remainder of this little trip.
