I received that awesome email to let me know that my scans are ready to download on the train back last night, so after a bit of a lie in, I was eager to see the results. After looking through the 200 odd photos from that trip to St Kitts, I'm still very much in love with shooting film. The colours and tones are stunning, and apart from the usual straightening and a bit of cropping, I'm keeping the images pretty much as I received them from the lab. That's another thing that really appeals to shooting film, the photos are just more.....honest. You simply cannot get away with cranking up the saturation, contrast etc in Lightroom to make an average sunset look like the best scene ever with film scans. There was a time I was a little guilty of that, I like think we've all done it.
The weather is really looking fantastic for the weekend, I'm really excited. We've decided to plan a BBQ we're that optimistic! We normally have at least one a year round at my parents, and it's shaping up like this is the weekend to do it. Fingers crossed!
