Today was simply amazing, some of the most fun I've had in ages and a truly incredibly experience.
We left the Dead Sea in the morning, with our final destination being Petra. On the way we made two stops. The first was the Al Mujib Preserve, where we had a two hour canyon trek along a river. This was simply amazing and I can't recommend it enough. It starts as a stream, barely ankle deep but you end up swimming along the river and climbing up waterfalls. It is a bit tricky in places so a guide is definitely worth it.
After a quick stop at Karak castle, with more amazing views and architecture, we arrived in Petra early evening. The final icing on the cake was to see Petra by night. You walk the 1.2 km trail to the Treasury solely lit by candle light, where the iconic sight is also lit by candles. An amazing way to end a very memorable day.
I only brought my tiny gorilla pod with me, as I wasn't really expecting to be taking many long exposure shots on the trip. This was the best shot I could get given the conditions.
In other news, I also finally received the email to let me know my scans from my last batch were ready today. I had hoped to receive them before I left for Jordan, but at least I have something to look forward to when I get home. Really excited to see how these turned out!
