I caught a bit of a break today. The work that was scheduled for the day had to be rearranged to yesterday evening. So it was a bit of a long day as I had to head straight to work after landing.
That meant I was free for the day! After a morning run, and my first ever 10k, I was taken out to one of the local wine regions, as I've had some great times at the wineries in various parts of Australia before (but normally visiting them on a weekend of course!) We visited the d'Arenberg Cube, essentially the visitor centre and cellar door for the d'Arenbery winery. Most wineries are small, quaint little places, normally down a lovely scenic track off the main road. This couldn't have been more different. Imagine an ultra modern, minimalist designed cube in the middle of the vineyards. The interior is even more out of this world, with rooms wallpapered with fruit, crazy urinals (had to mention it, just search for images if you must!), and a 360 degree video room that upon exiting, makes you feel like you've just been on a wild acid trip (at least that's what I guess it would be like!). It would have been rude to visit such a place without bringing a few bottles home, especially after such a great tasting session too. Definitely worth a visit if you're ever into wines, or the area and you fancy something......surreal!
In the evening I flew to Sydney for my last stop of the tour. Hopefully I'll get some time to walk about in the evenings.
